Lorilea Huon
Registered Psychologist
Lorilea is a compassionate and warm Psychologist who encourages clients to recognise their strengths, feel empowered in their care, and engage in therapy within a nurturing and supportive environment. She is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for people of all ages and backgrounds.
After completing her Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Queensland University of Technology, Lorilea gained experience across a wide range of clinical settings, including hospitals, schools, private practice, residential rehabilitation, and in-home support. She has worked with children as young as three through to adults, providing individual and group treatment, as well as parenting support from infancy through adolescence.
Lorilea has experience supporting individuals with diverse presentations, including anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, grief and loss, self-esteem and body image concerns, attachment issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anger, perfectionism, sexual concerns, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adjustment difficulties, stress and burnout, sleep disorders, executive functioning concerns, and chronic pain or injury.
She has a particular interest in working with people on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals experiencing trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. Lorilea draws from a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, attachment-focused approaches such as Circle of Security, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Her therapeutic style is compassion-focused and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs.

Outside the Clinic
Lorilea enjoys yoga, painting, reading, spending time with her family and out in nature, especially at the beach. Understands the Lorilea understands the challenges and strengths of ADHD from own lived experience.
