Louisa Bock
Occupational Therapist
Louisa is an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with people across the lifespan, with a particular interest in working with children. Graduating from the University of Queensland with her bachelor degree with honours, Louisa has also completed a Rural Generalist Program with Hunter New England Health across various regions of New South Wales, which incorporated further study with James Cook University.
Louisa has experience working in both public and private systems, and across a broad spectrum of practice areas, including paediatrics, mental health, community-based mental health rehabilitation, acute hospital, hospital-based rehabilitation and community-based environmental modifications.
While her clinical interests are broad, her greatest interest lies in the subject of neurodivergence and complex post traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD).
She is passionate about providing neuro-affirming OT services, and using a client and family-led approach to goal-setting and therapy.
Louisa’s creativity and warmth is central to her work with children. She thoroughly enjoys working with parents to understand their children’s needs, and with children themselves to draw their awareness to their own needs and build their repertoire of coping.
She enjoys partnering with adults to co-create supportive environments in which they can thrive, and empowering them to set and pursue goals that are important to them.
Louisa has extended her training by attending a number of professional development courses. This includes the cognitive strategy model called ‘PRPP’, which stands for ‘Perceive, Recall, Plan, Perform’. This model is an excellent tool for assessing and addressing challenges relating to attention, memory and executive functioning.
In her spare time, she enjoys going for river walks, drinking matcha, attending dance classes, and reading at least 2 books at a time (1 fiction and 1 therapy book - whoops).
